3.1 Investor Data Requirements

At the Series A stage metrics move from being supportive indicators to becoming central elements of the investment case.

While expectations vary by sector, business model and geography, Series A investors generally look for data which demonstrates both momentum and discipline. Momentum signals that the venture is moving in the right direction, while discipline suggests that growth is intentional, measurable and capable of being managed as the company scales.

Importantly, Series A investors are not simply searching for impressive numbers. They are evaluating whether founders understand their metrics, track them consistently and use them to make decisions. A smaller set of well-explained, reliable metrics is often more persuasive than a large collection of poorly contextualised figures.
