Owain Glyndŵr

(c. 1359 c.1416), lord of Glyndyfrdwy and Cynllaith, who became rebel leader in Wales and was declared Prince of Wales on 16 September 1400. After an initially successful revolt, reaching its high point in 140406 and involving diplomacy with Charles VI of France and Pope Benedict VIII and an alliance with rebel English lords, Glyndŵr eventually suffered defeats and disappeared in 1413, never to be located by the English.
