There are three boxes. At the top is Hyper-arousal (or fight/flight): over-active, distressed, obsessive behaviours, outbursts (anger/rage/aggression, addictions, chaotic responses. The next is Window of Tolderance (or comfort zone): calm, connected to thoughts and feelings, regulated, able to self-sooth. The last is Hypo-arousal (or freeze): depressed, numb, unmotivated, disconnected from feelings, shut down.
