Ukrainian cuisine is very rich and varied. The classic trio of national dishes that comes to mind when speaking about Ukrainian cuisine includes borshch, varenyky and holubtsi.

Dishes which are often prepared for breakfast are eggs, porridge, pancakes, cheese pancakes and tea or coffee.

Lunch in Ukraine starts with borshch or a soup. It is followed by the second course (meat or fish and a side dish) and the third course − tea, coffee or fruit drink and dessert.

The evening meal often consists of meat or fish with a side dish (for example, potatoes, pasta or rice) and a salad or a vegetable dish.

Ukrainians prefer to drink black tea and tea with lemon.
