5 Summary of Session 3

In this session you explored three essential employability behaviours in the context of sports: initiative, self-management and resilience, and self-awareness. The main learning points are:

  • Employability behaviours differ to employability skills and can be considered as tangible actions or habits that individuals consistently exhibit in their lives.
  • Focusing on the behaviours discussed in this session can contribute to enhancing both your trajectory in sport and broader professional life.

Before moving onto Session 4, we would really appreciate you answering the two brief questions below so that we can gather some feedback on this session.

In the penultimate session, you will be directing your attention to the last domain of the OU Employability Framework, which focuses on nurturing external awareness. While you may initially perceive fewer apparent connections to this aspect of the framework, this session will pleasantly surprise you with how effectively these skills can be cultivated through your engagement in sports.
