Session 3: Qualitative methodologies and CHIP
Introduction
As in the previous two sessions in this course you will be using the CHIP resource to explore psychology. In this session, the focus will be on discursive and phenomenological approaches in psychology as well as social constructionism. It encourages you to explore the links between these approaches and the historical contexts that have shaped them.
This session is provided to help you:
- learn about the assumptions underlying phenomenological and discursive approaches in psychology
- consider how qualitative methods relate to the topic of ‘social construction’.
