In an independent film project, strategies around sales and distribution – how and where a film is released – are an essential part of the finance process further up the value chain.

You'll be hearing more from our distributor, Alex Hamilton, this week as you learn about how the distributor builds value in the market for a film. His job is to exploit the film as much as he can globally and in many different ways. You will also take a close look at how the box office works: what it tells you about your film and how revenues work.

But first, some more information about the system for getting a film out to audiences.
