  • how children’s thinking about shape develops from their early years to the middle school years

  • the properties of triangles and quadrilaterals, leading on to developing definitions for 2D shapes

  • problem solving in geometry by attempting some tasks which involve 2D and 3D shapes, and considering how to manage the classroom to facilitate learners’ investigation of tasks involving shape.
