Week 7: Developing understanding about using measures

Introduction

Examples of measures are length, weight, temperature, liquid capacity and time. We measure quantities of things (for example, the length of a football pitch, the weight of a bag of sugar, the time of day) in units of measurement and these units are agreed around the world. For example, there is a metric system of units which is governed by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures to ensure worldwide uniformity (Watson et al., 2013).
