I am an independent researcher and public-interest technologist who has has worked for more than four decades at the intersection of digital technology and human behaviour. I have written several books on cybersecurity and data privacy and have been qualified as a CISSP since 1996. In 2016, I earned an MSc in security and risk management from the University of Leicester School of Criminology. I co-founded two successful cybersecurity and data privacy companies and was the 2019 recipient of CompTIA’s Tech Champion Award. I have spoken at multiple Virus Bulletin, DefCon, APWG, and ISC2 security events. I am a UK born, naturalized US citizen now living in Coventry, England, with my partner Chey Cobb, herself the author of multiple cybersecurity books.
