Exploring youth violence: what would you do?

Updated Sunday, 14 January 2024

Urban youth violence is a global problem that goes beyond policing and is best understood when viewed from a political economic and youth development perspective.

Find out about The Open University's Childhood and Youth Studies courses and qualifications.

Many young people are increasingly becoming marginalised, having to contend with a multitude of social ills and risks: crime, violence, substance misuse, fragile families, homelessness, and limited access to education and welfare services.

Please note, that this interactive contains depictions of racism, which you may find upsetting.
