    • Welcome!

Welcome to Professional Learning into Action! This Badged Open Course (BOC) is for education professionals who want to maximise the impact of professional learning they have undertaken. On completion, you will receive a badge and certificate of participation.

This course takes an Appreciative Approach to professional learning. More information about this approach can be found in the free OpenLearn course An Appreciative Approach to inquiry.

Using an Appreciative Approach, this course will support you to consider what generative possibilities have arisen from a professional learning event, and how you can plan to explore these new ideas and practices in your own context to make meaningful change. You may choose to consider one professional learning activity (e.g., a course you have completed or a podcast you’ve listened to), or you may draw from a selection of different professional learning events. Throughout this course the term ‘event’ will describe any situation in which professional learning takes place, so it includes informal, formal, individual and group professional learning.

To gain your digital badge you will need to engage with each page of the course, complete the final quiz and the course questionnaire.

This course has been written by Dr Carolyn Cooke and Dr Claire Saunders.
