      If you want to find out how to get started building courses in OpenLearn Create and why it might be a good idea for you and your business, you've come to the right place.

      This course will introduce you to OpenLearn Create and some of its features, and then take you step-by-step through creating your first online course.

      We'll explore the basics and then touch upon some of the deeper possibilities of using OpenLearn Create to build and host training materials and educational opportunities, including quizzes and digital badging.

      By the end of this course you will have created a short course that's ready to be published so that anyone with an internet connection can benefit from your knowledge and experience.

      To take part fully, answer quizzes, record your progress and be awarded a digital badge on completion you'll need to sign in and click the "enroll" button. If you're not sure how to do this you will find the first topic useful so click the "Course content" tab above, and then "A Brief Introduction to OpenLearn Create" to get started!

    By the time you complete this course you will:
    • Understand some of the benefits of building and hosting a course in the OpenLearn Create environment
    • Understand what is required in order to build and host a simple course, including basic copyright and intellectual rights such as Creative Commons licencing
    • Know how to start to build courses from scratch

    Additionally, if you complete all of the suggested activities you will have created your first draft OpenLearn Create course, complete with search listing and basic course structure ready to be populated with your own content.

    A completed course is required to earn a certificate of completion. If you wish to create a presentable course then it will take more than three hours.
