Introduction

I have been part of the transportation and logistics industry for about three decades particularly in air transport industry. I am also dealing with the e-commerce industry currently. E commerce logistics also involves multi-modal transportation. Data analysis and visualization plays significant role in the air transport industry from market analysis, revenue optimization, route planning and optimizing ,  competitors analysis to strategic planning and performance monitoring. 

The air transport industry and the logistics industry make extensive use of data analysis and visualization as part of their routine/tactical decisions as well as strategic decisions. 

Thus, I am also familiar with the importance of data analysis and visualization during my entire career.
