I am Savitri Emmanuel, a dedicated primary school teacher from the lovely twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. I am always eager to teach and learn and to make a difference in
children’s lives. I also have a passion for education
and an unwavering commitment to optimizing student and school success. I
honestly believe that all students can learn and I take immense pride in
assisting them in achieving their maximum potential. Though I teach in a mainstream school, I see the need for inclusive education since it fosters a culture of respect and belonging. It also provides the opportunity to learn about and accept individual differences. It is with this knowledge that I eagerly accepted the invitation to participate in this course and I look forward to interacting with the other participants.
When I am not teaching, I am a loving wife and also a mother to two beautiful young women, the elder, a graduate attorney at law while the younger is a future DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) currently in her second year of studies at the University of the West Indies. My hobbies include reading, academic writing and taking care of my pet cats who bring me such joy.
