Activity 1.2- What Makes An Inclusive School?

Two important features of an inclusive school would be:
1.Teachers well trained in working with children with special needs in order to have the positive attitude and willingness to continue learning strategies to assist these students. In a school I did community service with, a youth group foundation was invited to host a seminar for teachers for this very topic of inclusive learning for children with disabilities.
2. Creating an inclusive learning environment with activities that suit all abilities and needs such as having group desks to promote socialization and peer learning. Teachers would monthly rotate the group desks of children including any child with disabilities so they may socialize with their other classmates and work together with them daily, this way no child felt excluded no matter their abilities or disabilities. There would also be posters on the wall emphasizing good manners and being kind to one another to encourage that positive behavior among the class.
