Features of an inclusive classroom

Personally to me, two important features of an inclusive school are; a teacher's personal philosophy of education, their openness to diversity as well as a wide array of resources to cater for all learning styles. Whilst we focus on the difference amongst children, we must also cater to the teaching styles of those we place in front of the classroom to disseminate information.

Within my country's ECCE environment, we have learning centres within our schools which cater to developing certain knowledge, skills, attitudes and dispositions amongst children. Children of varying backgrounds are exposed to a multitude of resources and materials which are thematically placed in the learning environment according to what is being learnt that particular term.

A teacher's perspective on education as a whole can also shape their classroom input and output. There must be a desire for continuous and lifelong learning when in the field of education.

Yes , the teacher's  philosophy  of education and their attitude towards inclusion will be reflected in how our learners are catered for from the materials chosen ,communication with the families of our learners  , to how the environment is prepared,  and how activities/ are planned and strategies are used in the learning process to ensure the needs of each our learners are met.

In ECCE our materials , resources, themes/ projects cater for our learners of varying  backgrounds, learning needs, learning styles, and builds on their experiences.

The children's learning style needs to be considered when developing the education system. Their introduction to formal education should start with recognizing their specific needs. I would admit that meeting individual needs can be hard in the class with multiple children. Students can benefit from a positive education experience.

I totally agree with your points here. There must be willingness to be able to acquire the knowledge needed to cater for students with disabilities to ensure that their needs are also met.

Great points. I also agree that a teacher's personal philosophy of education is a key feature in an inclusive classroom.
