One of the features I suggested in Activity 1.2 in response to the question ' What makes and inclusive school' is- The attitude of the staff must be one that facilitates inclusion in how we cater for and embrace each learner. A positive attitude towards inclusion in school allows us to work together as a staff to ensure that our learners see school as a place where they are well supported , embraced and catered for , a place where each child is welcomed to learn ,grow and develop. In respect to this feature in our school we ensure our children are at the centre of the teaching and learning process. Each child has the opportunity to share their ideas , knowledge and experiences. We welcome an encourage their creativity, and the different ways they learn and do their activities. As a staff it is important to be respectful and be open to diversity and have a positive attitude towards it. I have seen improvement in the children attendance and their willingness to do their activities. In my observations I have noticed the children are also welcoming and embrace diversity. In our planning , strategies choices of materials and resources we always ensure to cater for our different learners.
