I believe that every child has the right to education including children with disabilities.
1. Two important features of an inclusive school are : 1. The teacher's attitude - the teacher must have a positive attitude to support all children in reaching their full potential.2. The school environment- the school must cater for the the needs of all children. All schools should have proper facilities such as ramps, rails and washrooms available.
2. I've also been to some schools where a negative or unhelpful attitude was shown towards children with disabilities. This has a major impact on these children because they feel unwanted in the schools and they are afraid to attend. Some students even go silent when being treated this way.
3. Two factors that contributes to an inclusive ethos and culture are : 1.cultutral change - where everyone should show respect for diversity and work together to make the schools inclusive. 2. Support from parents and communities- where everyone should be involved.
4. Some professional development training that I found was very effective in the classroom are : 1. Proper planning of lessons that will cater to all the needs of the children. Once you plan your work it will be easier to deliver.2. Time - take your time when delivering the lessons. Work at a slower pace than normal.
