Professional development

In my experience the Ministry has provided ongoing training programmes and workshops for teachers. I have also experienced in-house professional development through my personal school/cluster on a variety of teacher education topics. Many of these have provided positive takeaways which impact my teaching practice and collaborating with my colleagues.

This is the first training though, that I have done on Inclusion. Before that, would have been when doing my Bachelor's. This is a good training programme, however, what will make it effective in schools is exactly what the gentleman in the video spoke about. Training cannot simply be done as a one-off or in a vaccum. There needs to be monitoring, support and resources are to supplement this sort of training for inclusion to be effective at our schools.
