Most of the athletes struggle academically. At my school, it is important to communicate with the parents that their child needs to be passing. Parents are encouraged to check their child's work. Meeting with parents may be held to inform them of the need of extra classes for their child so they can participate in the sport. They are normally supportive and the student normally makes the passing score.
