Inclusive Classroom

An Administrator, staff members and stake holders must be on board in order to cater for some children in the inclusive classroom. Therefore having a resource room would benefit a school to assist some children and teachers when a child or group of children need remedial help with their studies. Having this room is important to facilitate inclusion because the child or group of children can be taken out of the classroom to this room to work with a trained special needs person who can work one on one with them in able to progress in their studies. The children will be more comfortable and it would also boost their self esteem having their needs met. The child would be able to display a positive attitude towards his work because it would be broken down for their understanding. Teachers along with the assistant will be able to meet and collaborate with each other in the best interest of the child or children.

The physical environment is also important in order for children with physical challenges to move about freely in the school. Proper washroom facilities along with ramps are needed. The lighting in classrooms can also be a challenge for some children. Therefore these must be put in place before special needs children can be brought into the inclusive school system.
