School Policies to Support Inclusive Education

Everyone is extremely special, regardless of abilities or limitations; all children are unique and require unconditional love, support, care, attention, encouragement, and recognition of how valuable they are; and my favourite idea from the list that I believe can help with this is to provide children with disabilities with someone to play with during recess. Children with disabilities, like all children, learn and develop a great deal through play, so having someone to play with during recess can mean the world to them. Every child deserves a special friend who accepts them for who they are, believes in them and thinks the world of them. Playing together allows children to see beyond a child's disability, allowing them to truly get to know that child as a person just like them, while also providing excellent opportunities to develop trusting, meaningful, long-lasting relationships/friendships. Play is a fun, exciting, and adventurous way to broaden the children's experiences together and recognizing the value of play in the education of all children, whether they have a disability or not, and providing them with opportunities to play, interact and socialize can have a significant/major impact on their lives and beyond.
