In my experience within a primary school unhelpful attitudes overtime led to a severe incident because there was the belief that the specific student performed poorly at academics, was soft-spoken and isolated because the child would always be alone during breaktimes and would often refuse to participate in group activities in the classroom. However, the child's behaviour escalating because it seems as if he felt as though he did not belong and thought that he was not loved by anyone which eventually resulted in him feeling the need to die and just got unto a ledge during school time with the intention to jump because no one took time to understand him. With intervention at the time of the incident, it was recognised that he was only looking for the feeling of being appreciated and loved because he was not getting that at home because he was seem to be different from the other sibblings. The parents refused to get help and he just went through the general school system without being referred because the parents refuse to get help.
