The UNICEF Wave model

In the wave model two, students are the main focus where there are outlines of  specific interventions for students that need it and those with related needs .  Additionally, It is imperative for administrators and teachers to deliver high quality teaching to assist learners in achieving specific learning objectives.  As well as providing them with numerous opportunities to acquire specific skills to achieve the learning outcomes.

Some teachers often comment that they are not specialists, so they cannot diagnose or teach children with special needs or disabilities in the general education/mainstream classroom.

The Wave 1 model is a perfect example that demonstrates to teacher/educators that their general education training, knowledge and experience are all prerequisites to  classroom inclusion, and that meaningful education can be sustained through making learning aid from local resources - a skill that most teachers possess in some measure, and which will be amplified when all teachers collaborate.

The Wave 2 model informs teachers that they are not alone in creating an inclusive school. Administrative and multi-agency support from government, health and nutrition services, parents, and information sharing across schools make it easier.

The Wave 3 model comprise the personalized specialist interventions, curriculum adaptation, and differentiated activities which facilitate successful implementation of whole school inclusion.
