Activity 2.2 Policies for an inclusive ethos

From the point of inception of the children into our school, my colleagues and I observe, document and monitor the children's behaviour, interaction with others in the school environment, cognitive and motor skills among others. The children are given materials to play/interact with and we document what we observe in order to assess each child to find out the developmental stage he/she is at and/or other challenges each child may have. By doing so, we can then plan activities and other measures to meet the needs of each child. 

As each child progresses, we record the stages of development using indicators to show how well the child is progressing and further planning to ensure all their needs are met.
