Professional Development

As an educator, continued professional development is necessary for finding new strategies and learning skills needed for  the learning environment.

A few years ago I got the opportunity to do a training called Play Therapy. I found this training quite effective because I work with children ages 3-5 years old.

In my experience, no two children are the same even if they come from the same household. So this training gave me the opportunity to learn new techniques to assist children who may display difficulties in the classroom. I was so ready to use this knowledge to assist the children

.I also appreciated the fact that our school division supported this training and we also were provided with learning resources and materials.

As Daniel said in the video, professional development is not a one off, it should be something done continuously to support teachers in creating inclusive classrooms
