1.7 Monitoring inclusive schools

In a previous school I worked the children was monitored through observations and recordings where the teacher observed the children individually and write brief narratives of what the child was doing and saying in the present tense. Also, skills and developmental checklists were used to monitor their growth and development. Monitoring is imperative for all schools as it focuses on planning and implementing in a systematic way. This eventually leads to formative assessment as we do in the early childhood setting of current practices and then future planning and implementing for both learning and teaching takes place.
