I have been to quite a few professional development workshop being 17 years in the fraternity. The one that stands out to me however, was a professional development workshop I attended which focused on the importance of using performing arts in the classroom.
Using performing arts in the classroom can positively propel a child's self- esteem. It gives them their own unique voice as a person. It helps expand their imagination and can be used as a medium allowing children to explore their emotions to freely express what they feel inside. Performing arts can be an essential tool used in the classroom to aid in classroom management, especially music and sounds.
The three discipline of performing art; dance, music and drama, engages children's emotions, body and brain in different ways, encouraging self expression which later leads to boosting their self confidence.
