Support teachers can provide in the classroom

Teachers must be supportive to all learners. In order to be effective at supporting learners with disabilities, teacher must first be able to identify the varying needs in the classroom. Teachers should also be prepared by creating or sourcing resources such as visual aids and other tools to assist the learners.

Teacher support also stems from ensuring that learners with disability feel welcome. They should include the learner in all aspects of the lesson. Plan differentiated work for such learners and speak positively to those learners.
