Features of an inclusive school

Features of an inclusive school

In my opinion, inclusion is a mindset and one of the first things we should see in an inclusive school:
(1) inclusive policies that drive the practices of the school, communication with families and other stakeholders,
(2) a staff that speaks and lives the language of inclusion through the provision of....
(3) a transformative learning environment, where there are multiple means of engaging the students, multiple ways of representing information and allowing the students to demonstrate their learning in varied ways....
(4) an effective monitoring system that ensures inclusive practices are working and if they are not, to determine adjustments to be made in order for them to be successfully implemented.
(5) resources that contribute to inclusion, in number and diversity.
