1.
all
children with disabilities have someone to play with at break time
2.
all
children with disabilities have extra help from peers in lessons
3.
all
children with disabilities have social activities after school
I
agree with all three points. However, there are tremendous benefits for “all
children with disabilities to have extra help from peers in lessons”. I will
list a few:
·
Children
are generally more comfortable relating with others within their own age group.
Peer teaching is a positive strategy that is utilized to help learners with
disabilities to improve his/her attitude towards learning an achieving academic
success.
·
Direct
interaction between a learner with disabilities and a peer teacher
can help to promote active learning and help to develop interpersonal skills.
·
A learner
with disabilities is more inclined to express themselves freely with a peer
teacher without hesitation. This allows for better concentration on tasks given.
·
Peer
teachers can also benefit from working with learners with disabilities as this
can also build their confidence and sharpen their skills.
