Two factors that you think are particularly effective in contributing to an inclusive ethos and culture are Parental Involvement and Parent Teacher Meeting/Conference.
Parental Involvement is an important aspect in the culture of any school. When parents are involved in the child's learning the child develops self esteem and builds his/her confidence knowing that their parents are supporting them. Parents also understands the schools goals and vision and willingly assist by volunteering in specific areas when needed.
Parents can also be involved through Parent Teachers Meeting/Conference so as to share ideas and give their input in the schools plans and projections. Parents also meet with teacher and discuss the child's progress and development. I remember when my son was in preschool, he will always remind me to attend Parent Teachers Meeting. I believe in his mind when he saw other parents there and not his it may have made him feel left out or not represented. Parental support for a child in his/her education is vital to their success.
