What needs to be in place to enable teachers to take part in ‘learning study’? How could Learning study be used to develop inclusive teachers.
In order for teachers to take part in ‘learning study’ the following needs can be put in place:
· Specific time frames, separate and apart from regular school hours and duties can be allotted to participate in a case study.
· Teachers should be placed in the environment where they can gain hands-on experience by observing skilled teachers in the field.
‘Learning study’ could be used to develop inclusive teachers by reflecting on the research, findings and collaborative efforts of other teachers. The information shared and discussed about a teacher's knowledge of practice, how they use resources to plan, implement and assess lessons that cater to the needs of all learners in an inclusive classroom is a valuable asset.
