“Giving the child a short time out of the lesson”

I think if anyone can elaborate on this statement, I would appreciate it. I would prefer to think that educators can find other meaningful ways to engage the child in the activity rather than remove the child from the activity. I can relate to a strategy such as “taking away some of their privileges for a short period of time”. For example, if they love to interact in the Block Area then they would have to stay away from there for a short period of time.
