4.2 (Working with families)

Schools can work with families to support children’s learning by extending invitations to parents to be part of a weekly read a story or cookery lesson where you can directly be part of the child’s development. This can be done at the ECCE level. Another example can be setting up parent conferences where parents can visit the school to discuss and view the child’s work this can be a way to monitor the child’s growth and development. This can assist both teacher and parent to work together to provide help by using various interventions or strategies if needed. Workshops are also very helpful in terms of providing parents with information, knowledge as well as teaching helpful skills.
