4.10 (bringing it all together)

Completing this course enable me to acknowledge the things that we sometimes take for granted. It showed how simple strategies within your practice could improve the progression of each child in your care. As a teacher, your main goal should always be to reach each child’s maximum potential leaving no child behind.

I would definitely use the information and knowledge gained to improve my own practice one thing I will definitely implement is creating a good ethos within the classroom setting. Setting the tone of having a warm and welcoming atmosphere will enable children to feel safe and secure in many ways. Children tend to strive better in a calm and loving environment and we must create an environment that nurtures that type of belongingness.

Another aspect of this course I think each school should have is working together with parents in terms of partnership to ensure that each child is being taken care as an individual. This way we can reach the needs of each child and render any assistance when necessary. This allows the school to track the child’s progression through this type of partnership.

In order to have a successful inclusive school, teachers must first want to be an inclusive teacher and have an open mind to learning new ways of doing things new strategies and a good working team within the school system.
