Activity 2.7 Positive behaviour management strategies

Dear Colleagues,

Taking the student for a walk, (away from the other students), if there is another supporting teacher in the classroom. This timeout gives the student time to simmer down and allow the other students to continue with their classroom activities.

Giving the student, in advance, strategies for coping with situations that are upsetting to him/her may help the student to identify and communicate what is upsetting to him/her and be reminded of how he/she is committed to react to the upsetting feelings.
