To support students like Luis as an educator I would give instructions using different learning styles e.g. visual. Verbal…. Together with this there should be constant reinforcement and repetition while chunking lessons.
Peer support can be used:
1. On the play field to help build his confidence.
2. To help him by explaining the home work.
3. Placing him in groups/other class session where singing and dancing is involve.
How could Luis be helped to make friends and feel included at play time?
This can be done by:
1. Dividing the class into small groups for some activities
2. Providing him with a buddy partner.
3. Allocate time during class for oral reporting.
4. He should be placed in extracurricular activities with his class/school mates.
How could the school support Luis’ social interaction and interest outside of the school curriculum?
Being an inclusive school they can work with the parent to find the best suited club within the community where he would be able to interact with other students and even those from his school.
