To enable teachers to take part in 'learning study', teachers input should be acknowledged as well as their feedback. There should be a willingness to share information, change of attitude and keep an open mind towards new learning strategies.
Learning study can be useful to develop an inclusive teacher by allowing them to get involved and be part of the study. At times the easiest way to understand or bring clarity in learning is to be a participant. Teachers should also be willing to work with each other, share and display positive attitudes towards learning study.
Yes Shaffie, you are right on what needs to be in place for 'learning study' experience. Besides sharing and willingness on the part of teachers, there is also need for support, appreciation and that feeling of belonging so that the objective of this venture can be realized.
When teachers participate as a group to design activities,experience the and eventually ,reflect upon them , it becomes easy to adapt ,adjust and modify such class activities to the benefit of the learners. Group/team involvement creates a lot of room for improvement of knowledge of practice.
