As a teacher, I consider that professional development is very essential as it caters for us as educators to widen our knowledge and enables us to develop our skills, knowledge and attitudes as educators. The PD opportunities that I think I need are more training with sign language, strategies in working with students with autism, down syndrome and also the vision impaired. I do not have experience in working with students with these needs but I truly believe that it is good and very important that as teachers we are trained and prepared from even before time to be in the process and ready when the time comes to work with students with special needs as the ones I mentioned.
