Online social networks

Online social and professional networks can be useful resources for information research. LinkedIn is one example. Not only can you put your own profile and CV on there, but you can also find other people in the field you are interested in, identify potential jobs and learn from the discussions that happen in special interest groups. Some online networks are informal, such as Facebook groups set up by groups of professionals and trades people, to support each other. Facebook helps particular communities such as small businesses, professionals and civil society in their networking and communication. For many in Myanmar, Facebook is Google, LinkedIn, Tinder, Tumblr, and Reddit, all in one. Universities have many such groups for students and staff.
