4 Using existing free content

In this session you’ll explore some of the reasons why you may want to reuse open content produced by others when you create your open course. Apart from the inspiration that you can gain from researching existing content , reusing this content for your own purposes can help save time, cost and provide a breadth and depth of perspective you may not be able to provide yourself. This is especially true if you have limited budget or technical knowledge for producing certain types of resources.

You’ll be introduced to open licences and and find out how they operate. You will explore different types of open content, where to find them and how to go about reusing them so that the original owner is properly acknowledged.
