Contributing projects
The exhibits in the gallery come largely from three research projects. In combination, they amount to hundreds of partnerships between organisations and research teams - and thousands of relationships between individuals. Some spanning over a decade of researching together. They are, however, representative of much wider research partnering and networks that are global in dimension.
Most exhibits will provide a link to external sites you can visit if you want to learn more about the project telling their story of equity. To give you some context to begin, here is a little on the three projects.
Building Equitable African Partnerships (BEAP) project

BEAP was a nine-month project in which teams from Kenya, South Africa and UK developed an African-centred workshop method to explore what equitable partnership meant for people in communities, researchers and funders. AHRC funded (grant AH/Z000718/1).
Decolonising Education for Peace in Africa (DEPA) project

DEPA was a five-year research project that explored how local knowledges skills and practices of peace can be used in formal and non-formal education in a variety of educational settings in Africa. DEPA was AHRC funded and commissioned 16 individual projects across 14 countries (grant AH/T008121/1).

Embedding and Enabling Creative Economy in Marginalised Societies: Creative Skills for Peace

A fifteen-month project that focused on exploring the potential of creative, soft and entrepreneurial skills and training for peace and sustainable development. It developed educational resources for youth artists and cultural, creative and heritage organisations to support aspiring entrepreneurs to set up their own enterprises in creative economies. AHRC funded (grant AH/W006812/1).
While the focus of the exhibits is mainly on African contexts, the gallery does include exhibits from Asia, South America and Western Asia. These contributions come from colleagues and friends met through working on the three core studies.
