Getting started

You are ready to launch into the gallery.

The stories you will read about and hear are lived experiences from research. Each exhibit focuses on very specific issue, that may on the surface seem a small part of the wider research endeavour. However, individually they are a commitment to challenging and changing institutional requirements that systematically disadvantage some partners. Collectively, they are resounding call for the need, and possibility of a much needed ideological shift to fairer research.

The stories are insights into our own journeys that we see as a continual process of striving for equity in our partnerships. We hope you find them, interesting, enriching and ultimately inspiring to make changes yourself.

Before you go, remember - you have to come back to the course, here on OpenLearn Create, after you've finished in the gallery to take the end-of-course quiz (section below) and earn your digital badge.

The quiz has 10 questions. One relating to each of the six institutional, and four community, equity in partnership categories. The questions are scenario-based. There will be four multiple choice options. You will be told how many to select. You will be looking to identify all suitable solutions to the problem. Most will be actions that will result in more equitable outcomes for all parties involved. However, some correct answers will be good research practice that don't promote fairer ways of working.
