Exploring issues in women's health
This free course, Exploring issues in women's health, will introduce social model approaches to health and wellbeing, which take as their starting point not the scientific context of the body, but the social context in which women live. The focus is on women and the impact of social and cultural factors on women's health. The course touches on various issues concerning women's health, such as abortion, periods, the menopause, mental health and fertility.

After studying this course, you should be able to:
- understand the impact of social and cultural contexts on women
- describe how the women's movement has influenced the health and social care sector
- identify pertinent health issues in the field of women's health.

A really excellent course. I learned a lot from the course about so many aspects. It was deeply interesting. My only negative about the course would be that when men were discussed in the course it felt like trans and intersex men were left out of the course and as a trans man I found that uncomfortable. Otherwise an amazing course and as I am going to be studying social studies in September this course has certainly provided me with a lot of knowledge for that so thank you. :-)
