This week, you'll explore how to use your communication skills to deal with challenging situations. You'll learn about the value of open and honest communication, and flexibility, in the workplace. And you'll look briefly at the sometimes challenging relationship between leaders and followers.
You'll identify techniques to help you manage emotions in your job, voluntary work, or personal life, whether that's dispersing anger, dealing with disappointment, or just trying to calm squabbling teenagers. And you'll consider how to approach some of the challenging conversations you might have in the workplace, such as handling opposing views or sharing bad news. But best of all, you'll learn how using communication skills to work collaboratively can help minimise conflict in the first place, and keep your workplace a friendly and positive place to be.
