Welcome to the MND Association's Care Worker's Module.
Please note: The purpose of this module is to introduce you to the issues surrounding the care for people living with MND and discusses equipment and procedures you may encounter in this role. Actual equipment and techniques that you use during formal training will vary. Completing this module does not qualify you to carry out any medical procedures but will help you to understand the environment you will be working in.
Below you will find the units you need to review. As you complete one unit, another will be available.
There are six units in total, plus the introduction and the end of module feedback questionnaire:
Introduction to the Care Worker's Module
Unit 1: Eating and swallowing
Unit 2: Breathing
Unit 3: Moving
Unit 4: Thinking
Unit 5: Communicating
Unit 6: End of Life

All the units follow a similar format and you should be able to complete each of them in 15-30 minutes. There is a short quiz at the end of each unit, after which you will be able to move on to the next unit.
