This module provides an introduction to the aquaculture sector and the growing potential of macroalgae cultivation as a sustainable source of food, bio-based products, and environmental solutions. Participants will explore cultivation techniques, processing methods, and the diverse applications of aquatic resources across different industries.

Learners will also gain practical knowledge of seafood product transformation, biomass valorisation, and the development of value-added products. By understanding key production processes and sustainability principles, participants will strengthen their technical skills and their awareness of emerging opportunities within the blue economy.

This module equips participants with the tools and methodologies needed to transform ideas into viable business opportunities. Through the application of Design Thinking, customer analysis, and the Business Model Canvas, learners will explore innovative approaches to identify market needs and create compelling value propositions.
