26 with MND

I care for my partner who is turning 36 this year. We're having a "10 year and I didn't die" party. Some people think this is a bit crass however we are celebrating how far Marks come and how lucky I am to still have him. If a relative or friend had the same party would you attend or do you think it is in bad taste?
